When choosing an ebike conversion kit, ensuring you have the correct wheel size is crucial. Selecting the wrong size can lead to compatibility issues and performance inefficiencies. This guide will help you accurately determine your bike’s wheel size so you can make the right choice with confidence.
The sizes of bicycle tires are now designated according to the European tire and rim standard ETRTO (European Tire and Rim Technical Organization). In practice, however, the older English and French names are also used.
The ETRTO size designation (e.g. 40-622) indicates the width (40 mm) and the inner diameter of the tire (622 mm). This designation is unambiguous and allows a clear assignment to the rim size. As shown below:
Please note that the same INCH size may be a different ETRTO size. For example, a 16-inch 305 and a 16-inch 349 are both 16 inches, but they are two completely different wheel sizes.
Tires and rims must match. More specifically, the inner diameter of the tire must match the diameter of the rim shoulder. When selecting a wheel size, please try to provide a complete size description or send a picture to our online customer service to ensure you select the correct wheel size.
Due to the wide variety of wheel sizes, we have only listed the commonly used wheel sizes. If your wheel size is not in the table below, please contact #WhatsApp: +86 199 7018 0785 or #Email:miya@lvbu.tech for customization.
